Getting Started with Sewing Patterns
What is a Sewing Pattern?
A sewing pattern is a template used to cut fabric pieces that are then sewn together to create a garment. Our patterns are computationally designed, meaning every curve and measurement has been mathematically verified for accuracy.
Reading Pattern Markings
•Grain line: A straight line with arrows showing how to align the pattern on fabric
•Notches: Small marks on the cutting line used to match pieces together
•Dots/Circles: Indicate important construction points (darts, pocket placement)
•Seam allowance: The area between the cutting line and stitching line
Your First Project
1Choose a beginner-level pattern (we recommend the A-Line Skirt)
2Take your measurements using our sizing guide
3Print your pattern following the printing guide
4Cut your fabric pieces
5Follow the construction order marked on each piece
💡 Tip: Start with a medium-weight cotton fabric — it's forgiving and easy to work with.
